The meaning of achiote is “bright seed” that symbolizes power and identity.
The K'uxub restaurant is a representation of Contemporary Mexican Art Cuisine, which seeks to express itself through its dishes, involving the feelings of customers when trying the exotic dishes, all led by the young chef, Hilario Mendoza, who on his resume even has dinners served for the former president of the United States, Barack Obama.
The chef combines traditional Mexican dishes with innovative presentation and new ingredients, paying homage to the magical cities of Mexico, exalted in the facilities of Le Muuch Hotel, where the restaurant is located.
Chef Hilario has elevated the concept of traditional Mexican cuisine, using recipes he learned from his grandmother.
It really is an inexplicable experience to try mole with ravioli. Mole is a traditional Mexican sauce made with chocolate and other spices, but the one at K'uxub was one of the best I've ever tasted.
How to get to Valladolid
Valladolid is approximately 160 km from Cancun and you can get there using ADO buses or if you rent a car, just take the road that connects Cancun to Mérida and follow the signs (it really is quite easy to get there).
