The 7 best parks in Cancun and Riviera Maya
1 – Xcaret

One of the best places to visit in Cancun is Xcaret. Recognized in 2016 as the "best theme park in the world," it boasts over 50 attractions for all ages and features natural beauty, recreational activities, and entertainment. It's no wonder that Xcaret is the largest theme park in Cancun and Mexico.
During your visit to Xcaret, you can swim in underground rivers, hike jungle trails and explore mysterious caves.
You can't miss the Butterfly Garden and the magnificent Coral Reef Aquarium. In addition, in Xcaret you will have the opportunity to see deer, jaguars, flamingos and exotic birds.
Within the cultural and historical areas of Xcaret you can see Mayan ruins, the Museum of Popular Art of Mexico and the Chapel of Guadalupe.
In addition, you will have the opportunity to see a wonderful show at the night show “Xcaret by Night” with more than 300 artists on stage. Don’t worry about food, as there is a wide variety of restaurants to suit all tastes (you can include food when you book the tour to Xcaret).
Typically, a tour of Xcaret Park includes: transportation, beach access, entrance to the natural pools, shows and exhibitions, water activities in underground rivers, visits to the Aquarium, and general equipment (life jackets, beach chairs, umbrellas, snorkel, etc.).
2 – Xel Ha

Another of the best water parks in Cancun is Xel Ha. Considered the largest natural aquarium in the world, it is one of the most popular destinations on the Riviera Maya and throughout Mexico.
Snorkeling is one of the main activities to do during your visit to Xel Ha. It also offers the possibility of practicing other activities such as Sea Trek and Snuba.
There are two main routes you can take in Xel Ha. One is the water route, where you have to take a train that will take you up the river to start exploring. You can choose to go swimming, snorkeling, or on the single or double inner tubes.
Another way to explore Xel Há is through the jungle, where you will find a variety of adventure activities and the possibility of seeing countless species of exotic animals. Grab one of the available bikes and explore the entire park, it's really cool!
If you choose an all-inclusive tour in Xel Ha , you will have a continental lunch, unlimited drinks, buffet, snorkeling, jungle walks, children's nursery, use of lockers and towels, and general equipment (life jacket, parasols and sun loungers).

3 – Xplor

Many Brazilians ask if Xplor is worth it. It is very much worth it!
If you're looking for adrenaline and contact with nature on the Riviera Maya, Xplor is one of the parks you should visit.
Located in the heart of the Riviera Maya, in Xplor you will visit caves covered with stalactites and stalagmites produced by the permanent infiltration of rainwater.
Xplor Park offers the possibility of exploring by walking between rivers and caves or sailing on a raft. Also, if you like extreme adrenaline, don't miss the nighttime version of the park called Xplor Fuego, where you will experience adventures in the middle of the darkness.
4 – Xenses

Xenses is another of the parks in Playa del Carmen located very close to Xcaret and Xplor, 74 km from Cancun. It offers 15 activities in different settings perfectly designed to give you an unforgettable sensory experience: Earth, Air and Water.
You will pass through different ecosystems of the Xensatorium, walk through the caves of a labyrinth of underground arteries and you will also be able to go to the fun world of dwarves and giants.
Despite being recently built, this is one of the theme parks in Cancun and Mexico that receives more visitors every day.
Tip: It is recommended to bring a swimsuit, comfortable clothing, a towel and extra clothes to avoid getting wet.
5 – Xoximilco

Xoximilco consists of a network of canals that you traverse at night in picturesque boats, while you enjoy the best traditional Mexican dishes with friends and family.
All this with the accompaniment of traditional mariachis and other typical live music, making it a kind of journey through a fun party in the “authentic Mexican style”.
The tour lasts approximately 3 hours. Children aged 5 and over are welcome. It includes a trajinera (a type of raft with a table and chairs) ride through the canals, dinner with Mexican food, free tequila, beer and soft drinks, and excellent live music.
The park is inspired by Xochimilco in Mexico City, making it one of the most picturesque tourist parks in Cancun and the Riviera Maya.
6 – Jungle

If you’re into extreme adventure, make sure to add Selvatica to your list of parks in Cancun to visit. The park is located approximately 45 minutes south of Cancun and covers approximately 133,55 hectares of jungle beauty.
It has 12 exciting zip lines, cenotes where you can swim and has vans that will take you to explore the jungle, one of the best excursions in Cancun.
The good news is that the tours are conducted in very small groups. If you need it, the park offers a round-trip transfer to your hotel, which makes the service more personalized.
7 – Parque Ventura + Wet N'Wild Cancun

For those looking for an amusement park in Cancun, Ventura Park is the place to be. It is a very complete theme park and is the only one actually located in the city of Cancun. It includes many attractions, so if you are traveling with the family, it is one of the best parks in Cancun for children.
It is made up of seven worlds: Wet'n Wild (water park), Fun Word (Roller Coaster, flying chairs and carousel), Aaaah Ventura! (high-level adrenaline), UnderWord (four simulators with the best technology), Dolphinaris (swimming with dolphins) and BeachOh beach club! (beach day, unlimited drinks and excellent cevichería).
Don't miss a day of adrenaline and guaranteed fun in this incredible park.
The Wet'n Wild world inside Ventura Park is for many the best water park in Cancun. It is full of slides that run through dense vegetation.
There are ten fun and adventurous water attractions, including the Slow River, Kids Park, Dolphin Show and Bumper Boats. If you’re not so keen on action, you can also relax on the beach at this park.
